There’s an excellent fare between Toronto or Ottawa to Shanghai throughout 2015 for $668CAD on Delta Airlines. For those interested in mile running, the CAD CPM is 4.5, and the USD CPM is 4.0.
AeroMexico is having a good deal between Toronto to Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Lima, and Santiago de Chile. They're going for $699CAD, which is a substantial discount on the typical $1200 fare.
More than a year ago (!), Canada announced their intention of joining the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Travel Card (ABTC) program. Recently, Canada implemented the ABTC card program, and now NEXUS members who have business travel with APEC member countries can get the ABTC card.

American Express just released a new credit card: The American Express AeroplanPlus Reserve Card (this is not a referral). It has an $899 annual fee, and a 50,000 Aeroplan Point sign-up bonus after spending $3,000 in 3 months. Frankly, it’s a terrible offer.
If you have a lot of vacation time and a lot of miles, the Aeroplan around-the-world award might be for you. It allows great flexibility for travel, which maximizes the distance and number of destinations you can see over any other Aeroplan award type.
