Five Holiday Gifts for the Frequent Traveller (Canada)
Shopping for the frequent traveller in your life, even if it’s yourself, can be a daunting experience. This list provides ideas for five different gifts that would be ideal for frequent travellers. Items on this list are usually discounted, so I’d recommend picking them up now before prices increase for the holiday shopping season!
1. Tumi Packing Cube – Regular $CAD 44.79, now $33.99
These packing cubes by Tumi are phenomenal. They help divide your luggage up, saving the frequent traveller space in their luggage and making it more organized. They are usually quite expensive at $44.79, however, the blue version is currently on sale for the amazing price of $33.99. I’ll be picking up three of these for myself!
2. Bose Quiet Comfort 20 Noise Cancelling Headphone – Regular $CAD 279.00, now $249.00
These headphones are awesome, and are a standard accessory for the frequent traveller. They substantially cut down on in-flight noise, allowing for a comfortable and relaxing journey. Further, their sound quality is amazing. They typically sell for $279.00, but are currently on sale for $249.00. There’s a version for Apple and Android phones.
3. LifeStraw Go Water Bottle with Integrated 1000-Liter Filter – Regular $CAD 45.00, now $38.25
For a traveller who goes anywhere where water quality is suspicious, this has been an absolute life saver for me. The water bottle has a built-in water filter (the “LifeStraw”), and filters out 99.9999% of bacteria for 1,000 liters of use – for a 23oz water bottle, that’s about 1470 uses!
4. “Sunscreen” Flask for Cruise Ships, 9.7oz – $CAD 16.79
Do you know anybody who goes on cruises? Unfortunately, most cruise ships search you every time you board the ship, because they want to charge you insane prices for on-board liquor. This 9.7oz flask looks like sunscreen, so it’s easy to sneak your own alcohol onto a ship and avoid the cruise line’s extortionist alcohol prices!
5. Jackery Giant+ Premium 12000mAh Dual USB 3.1A Output Portable Charger & External Battery Pack – $CAD 26.99
Everyone needs this. Essentially, it’s just a battery pack. When your electronics get low on charge while travelling, plug this in, and your devices will recharge. Super handy for airports where it’s hard to find a plug, or on an airplane without plugs.

Disappointing commercial post; not up to your previous (hopefully, also current) standard.
MEC sells a variety of packing cubes and other organizers at a fraction of what you’ll pay for the Tumis, even on sale. The quality is top-notch too. Don’t be a label diva!
