I don’t know what’s going on, but there’s AMAZING Star Alliance business class availability on Swiss Airlines and Turkish Airlines for November – January.

Just a note that I will be posting far less frequently until after April. I am heading into my final exams for law school, and I have three trips booked, with almost no rest time (Las Vegas, California, and Australia). I will still try to post major deals, however, don’t expect any analytical posts until after April. Sorry for the hiatus, but I need it!
Many airlines offer complimentary hotels for stopovers or on arrival. For example, Point Me to the Plane recently wrote about United’s complimentary hotel option for arrivals at certain cities. Similarly, Air Canada offers a free hotel on a stopover if your connection is more than six hours in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. Your itinerary must include a flight that originates/arrives at a non-Canadian or USA city. This option is free for paid bookings in business class, premium economy, or on a latitude fare. Flex and Tango fares apparently get a discounted rate for the hotel.
I’ve written extensively on how you can convert Aeroplan points to US Airways Dividend Miles (USDM) at a 1:0.84 ratio. USDM miles offered excellent value, with interesting routing options, no fuel surcharges, and the option of waiting to convert them to AAdvantage miles with the US/AA merger. Unfortunately, the option to convert Aeroplan to USDM has disappeared from Points.com. This isn’t too surprising as the merger is coming soon, however, it would have been nice to have some notice. This was the only valuable option that Points.com offered, which I would now consider as a very poor tool in terms of value.
There’s a rather glitchy fare between Toronto YYZ to Palma de Mallorca PMI for summer travel, ~$500USD. The fare doesn’t seem to appear on either Google Flights or ITA Matrix, however, it does show and is bookable on Orbitz. There is lots of availability between May and June.
While planning my upcoming trip to Vegas, I stumbled upon a $50 off $100 booking with Vegas.com coupon. It’s associated with Visa Checkout. You will get $50 off a minimum of $100, on anything but gift cards with Vegas.com. Although the promotion says it doesn’t start until tomorrow, it currently works.
