A little-spoken partner of Alaska Mileage Plan is Fiji Airways. Considering how expensive it can be to get to Fiji, using either cash or points, using Mileage Plan points on Fiji Airways might be a good option. Other Frequent Flyer programs allow redemptions on Fiji Airways, but those points are not nearly as accessible to Canadians as Alaska points are (especially with the MBNA Alaska card!)
There’s a good deal going between Montreal YUL and Hong HKG on Delta Airlines. This fare doesn’t show up on ITA Matrix, but it does both on Kayak.com and google.ca/flights. It’s bookable between September and March, with fairly wide availability. If you’re looking at doing this is a mile run, you can get around 3.6CPM, which is pretty good for a Canadian flight.

There are two airlines that fly between Beijing PEK and Pyongyang FNJ: Koryo Airlines and Air China. While Koryo Airlines is cheaper than Air China, it isn’t the safest airline in the world. A r/t ticket with them costs approximately $700, while Air China is a bit more expensive (but safer).
