HIRING: Flight Award Travel Manager, Part/Full-Time

What are we looking for?

My company is seeking a part-time or full-time Flight Award Travel Manager. Your primary duties include:

  • Responding to customer inquiries;
  • Researching and booking flight awards using frequent flyer miles and credit card points;
  • Completing appropriate paperwork, including entering data into the GDS (Apollo).

You may be asked to occasionally act outside your role, such as helping with contract processing and client on-boarding.

Why we’ll pass on the new Scotia AMEX gold card

Last week, Scotia unveiled a revamped AMEX gold card. We see this card as a potential challenger to the AMEX Cobalt but despite some new features, Scotia Rewards just aren’t as valuable other reward options and the welcome bonus doesn’t do enough to offset the annual fee to entice us to apply. So, for now anyway, we’ll have to pass on this card.

Update on Aeroplan Bookings

Yesterday, I posted about how Aeroplan was blocking redemptions on any booking that does not involve a point in Canada or the United States. I emailed my contact at Aeroplan this morning, who seemed surprised about it. Hours later, my contact replied that the system is restored to normal. I’ve tested the website again, and it appears that the system has been fixed.
