Update: I had a hard time booking until I used HOLA Browser Extension to trick the system that I was in the UAE. Once I did that, it booked fine.

A little-spoken partner of Alaska Mileage Plan is Fiji Airways. Considering how expensive it can be to get to Fiji, using either cash or points, using Mileage Plan points on Fiji Airways might be a good option. Other Frequent Flyer programs allow redemptions on Fiji Airways, but those points are not nearly as accessible to Canadians as Alaska points are (especially with the MBNA Alaska card!)

The system tries to block multiple uses, but get creative and I’m sure you’ll figure out a way to use it more than once…. I suggest using the mobile app, and try a different credit card each time.
